She is originally from New Orleans and moved to Florida in 1980.
While majoring in psychology and biology at the University of North Florida she took a pottery class. She enjoyed so much she got her father to make her a pottery wheel out of an old washing machine. She became busy with life, which move her away from clay but some years later she took a pottery class again in Gainesville, which reminded her how rewarding it is to work with clay.
The majority of her clay work is primitive, folk art along with many functitonal pieces.
While moving from her first studio, which was the old laundry room behind her house, she found the new location was home of many green lizards, thus the name she chose for her business, The Green Lizard.
Diane has been demonstrating at Stephen Foster since 2008. With the help of her husband Pauli and support of her canines Fritz & Gus she teaches others to love and have fun with clay.
